Architecture Round Up

We have a few great Accoya jobs just completed. I guess the Mark de Lisle job in Hamilton epitomises them with cladding used as a feature showcased. Trevor Wilson on his 5th or is it 6th Accoya dark clad house is loving Accoya and we are pleased it is working so well. Dark Colours and Accoya a great combination this is a great use of Accoya.

Trevor Wilson designed and Marty Hyland built Accoya clad!!!

Accoya has come out in a "Grand designs" UK show with some eye catching cladding and panelling. Photos below.

An Independent Norwegian Institute has undertaken some research for 5 years on durable timbers and has again shown the superior performance of Accoya as compared to a bunch of European timbers. surprisingly thermally treated timber did nto come out so well???

graph here.

Australian Oak has been used for some large jobs this year. the straight light coloured grain is fabulous for use inside. the below job from Australia, shows off the uses from Flooring to ceiling battens to separating spaces. See more here.

Australian Oak flooring, ceiling battens and dividers - a great look.

A great year with strong growth again, although as is the norm in our industry there are lots of peaks and troughs along the way. Very strong regional patterns emerging with 3 areas standing out. Central Otago, Canterbury and Auckland are the drivers, the rest are small by comparison.
/imagesdb/Issue/2482450c-c251-453a-98f0-89b2c8703747.jpgSupply Chain update
Not a lot of surprises, naturally durable timber supplies are limited and by and large the recovery from GFC and re build in NZ have stretched supply chain capacities to supply.

No great surprises currently. Costs here and there rising although often times mitigated by exchange rate fluctuations.

As we all see the huge number of buildings being renovated and new builds it is sometimes hard to comprehend the ups and downs. June and July were not especially busy.
